Doggone Tired is a 1949 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer animated short directed by Tex Avery for MGM.

Plot[]

While visiting a hunting lodge, in the woods, a hunting dog gets excited to start hunting rabbits. But his master objects, saying that they should get some sleep first. They will catch the rabbit better with a good night sleep. The rabbit is determined to make sure that that doesn't happen.

  • This cartoon entered the public domain in 1978, due to MGM failing to renew the copyright in time.
  • This is one of two Tex Avery cartoons for MGM to be in the public domain, the other one is Jerky Turkey.
  • This is a reworking of the 1941 Walter Lantz cartoon Man's Best Friend, which was also written by Jack Cosgriff.
