Slick Joseph "Wolfie" McWolf, is a major character created by cartoonist Tex Avery. His portrayal varies from being one of Droopy's main enemies to being the latter's best friend. With exceptions, the Wolf has never officially been named. However, Red has called him Wolfie in her songs, and he was referred to as Joe for a brief moment in Swing Shift Cinderella by the younger version of Red, and two other shorts, Wild and Wolfy and Northwest Hounded Police. In some publicity materials, he is referred to as Wally Wolf, in The Tom and Jerry Comedy Show, he is known as Slick Wolf and in Tom and Jerry Kids and in Droopy Master Detective, he is known as Slick McWolf, implying Slick became his name and because his name was never heard in any of cartoons. In the both series, he serves as the main antagonist in most of the Droopy segments.

Trivia[]
- Prior to his appearance, Tex Avery used the generic Big Bad Wolves in Little Red Walking Hood, The Bear's Tale, and A Gander at Mother Goose.
- In Tom & Jerry Kids Show episode "Cleocatra", there is a character similar to him, but he looks more like the Chubby Man than the normal McWolf himself and has a shorter nose length.
